Class Session Schedule

The West Las Vegas Arts Center is a vibrant cultural hub that enriches the community through the power of the performing arts. It serves as an introduction to the arts for many, offering a diverse range of programs that foster civic, communal and intellectual development. With a focus on education and accessibility, the center provides a space for the community to engage through the arts to help cultivate creativity and aspiration, build skills and inspire excellence. Choose from West African dance, Hip Hop, Beginner Tap or the Live Arts Dance Institute program for dance classes. Or the West African Drum class for ages 5 and older. Or perhaps mariachi lessons for violin, guitar, vihuela or golpe instruments. Or the Arts Conservatory dynamic film media and theatre company for ages 10-18.

Rites of Passage

The annual Rites of Passage program is offered to boys and girls ages 10-16 beginning in September. The 2025 program begins Sept. 13 for boys and Sept. 20 for girls, and runs through Dec. 13. An orientation program is offered in late August and early September. Boys meet Saturdays, 1-3 p.m. and girls meet Saturdays, 3:30-5:30 p.m. There is a $42 fee for the 13-week program. Participants learn to become responsible, caring adults, independent thinkers and outstanding citizens. Community elders are encouraged to support the youth as they prepare for their crossing over ceremony in late December. This mentoring program helps youth cope with the struggles they face in everyday life -- school, home and community. They will develop mental power, social relationships, consciousness and identity, based on the seven principles of KWANZAA - Unity, Self-Determination, Collective Work, Responsibility, Cooperative Economics, Purpose and Faith. Breathe and Flow Yoga

For ages 10 and older.
Saturdays, 11 a.m. to noon, Sept. 6-Oct. 11 and Nov. 1-Dec. 13
Cost: $42 per six-week session.
These yoga classes emphasize breath awareness and flowing movements to promote relaxation, flexibility and mindfulness. Click here for details and registration.

 

Performing & Visual Arts Summer Camp for Kids

For 29 years the West Las Vegas Arts Center has been home to the summer Performing & Visual Arts Summer Camp for Kids, providing community youth with opportunities for civil engagement through arts education. These talented young artists 10-15 years old, commit themselves to the philosophy, "Excellence without Excuse," developing art appreciation in music, dance, theatre and spoken word. 2026 Performing & Visual Arts Summer Camp (ages 10-15)
Monday-Friday, June 8-Aug. 1, 2026, 7 a.m.-5 p.m.; no camp June 19.
Cost: $400 for the summer. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.

Rentals

The West Las Vegas Arts Center has a variety of spaces available for rent. These spaces range from $35 - $100/hour with a 4-hour minimum. Cost not inclusive of staff, security, equipment, or cleaning. To find out more about renting this location, call the center. Rental availability is released by the fiscal year, so dates are available through June 30, 2026. See rental request form here.
